I mean using a turbine as a range extender makes a lot of sense. One of the big problems with turbines is that they don’t handle spinning at different speeds very efficiently, but as a range extender you can just wait for power to get low and then run them at optimal speed for a long time to recharge. They are also smaller for the power they produce.
On the other hand, I suspect this company mostly wants one so they can say they’ve got a cool (well probably not very cool while the turbine is going) jet car.
I’ll also have a lot more faith they can pull it off when they show something functional, as opposed to some sketches.

I want to start a company called Vaporware and then actually make something
also what do you do about the heat and noise coming from the turbine?

Sounds like the consider the noise a feature. Who wants a quiet supercar? For the heat, maybe they can exhaust high and towards the middle, like the 918, giving the exhaust a chance to cool down and dissipate a bit before melting the car behind?
